Dallas Budget's Disturbing Embrace of Gender Ideology

Recent reports from The Dallas Express News show that the City of Dallas is set to endorse and financially support events that celebrate individuals based on race, ethnicity, gender, and sexuality. The proposed budget for fiscal year 2024 reveals a deeply troubling direction, with the Dallas Office of Arts & Culture (OAC) planning to increase support for cultural celebrations, including the highly controversial LGBTQ Pride Month.

A Dangerous Path: LGBTQ+ Values Run Amok

The proposed budget's focus on LGBTQ+ values is a dangerous path that threatens the very fabric of our society. By facilitating cultural celebrations such as Black History Month, Hispanic Heritage Month, Indigenous People's Month, Women's History Month, Asian American and Pacific Islanders History Month, and LGBTQ Pride Month, the City of Dallas is pandering to the liberal agenda.

Pride Month: An Affront to the Family

The City's celebration of Pride Month, which began in June 2020, is a particular affront to traditional values. The raising of the official Pride flag with the City of Dallas seal sends a clear message: the city is more interested in promoting a divisive and controversial agenda than in upholding the principles that have long defined our nation.

The proposed budget for the OAC has increased to $23.8 million, with funds shamelessly used to work with LGBTQ groups. This is taxpayer money being funneled into activities that many citizens find morally objectionable.

A Failed Attempt to Defy Governor Abbott's Bill

The recent cancellation of a "Pride Street Party" themed "A Night of a Thousand Drag Queens" is a small victory for decency. This event, intended as a direct response to Governor Abbott's righteous bill criminalizing children's attendance at inappropriate shows, failed to raise sufficient funds. It's a clear sign that the people of Dallas are not on board with this liberal agenda.

Families Must Fight.

The City of Dallas's decision to boost Pride events and other identity-based celebrations is more than concerning; it's a direct assault on the values that have made our country great. This budget proposal is a wake-up call for conservatives.

We must stand firm against this tide of liberal ideology that seeks to divide us and undermine the principles we hold dear. The fight to preserve our values is far from over, but we must not waver in our commitment to what is right.

The City of Dallas must be held accountable for this misguided and dangerous budget proposal. It's time to take a stand and make our voices heard.
