North Texas School District’s New Pronoun Policy

Texas public schools have some major issues that have been discovered over the last couple of years. The LGBTQ agenda’s largest target has been the public school system. We saw Austin ISD branded pride flags being hung up in the schools, teachers encouraging students to join the LGBTQ agenda, and administrators using false pronouns to identify students. Keller ISD has had enough of this nonsense and now has a new policy that defies everything the LGBTQ has been pushing for.

This new policy requires all teachers and administrators to refer to students by the gender on their birth certificate. This eliminates the ability of teachers and staff to encourage and accept children being socially transitioned. This policy should be mandated statewide. Teachers have no right to be an influence on a child’s sexuality. We have seen massive overstep by government school employees in taking way too much of a social influence role. Things like this shouldn’t be taught to children at all, and parents have the right to know if and when these things are happening which brings us to the next policy change.

Schools in Keller ISD are now mandated to inform parents if students request a different name or pronoun change. Parents have had major information held from them because there wasn’t a requirement to report. This should also be a statewide mandate. The only problem with this policy is it allows parents to give consent to the school to use the wrong pronouns. Children with parents who have bought into the LGBTQ movement will have no chance to escape the insanity. No exceptions should be considered. Schools are supposed to be places where you learn to read and write, not a place where your sexuality is discussed.

Keller ISD has taken the lead on this issue but there is still work to do. The most obvious decision to solve the sexualization of children in schools is to implement school choice. Schools need students to retain students and if they know families will leave the district if sexualization is happening, they will stop. The competition that school choice brings not only ends the sexualization of children but improves the levels of education. Math testing scores have been declining in Texas since 2011. The whole public education system needs to be flipped upside down.

Overall, the new policies implemented by Keller ISD are major improvements. Teachers and school administration have too much influence over children’s social behaviors. There is still a lot more to be done in this arena but much of it will be fixed when the Texas legislature passes a school choice bill. There are still public school districts in Texas that are hanging pride flags and promoting extremely sexual reading materials. These problems aren’t fixed yet, so we will continue to fight to improve them.
