Presbyterian “Pastor” Insults The Pro-Life Movement

The Bible lays out all aspects of what it means to be a follower of Christ. In the Bible, we learn God made each of us individually and in His image. The Bible also teaches us the value of life. One of the 10 Commandments is “Thou shalt not kill.” From the moment a child is conceived, it is a unique human life.  Intentionally ending a life is murder. One Presbyterian “pastor, ” Rebecca Todd Peters, has emerged as a massive advocate for the pro-abortion movement.

Peters is the author of a book called “Trust Women: A Progressive Christian Argument For Reproductive Justice.” She claims abortion is not contradictory to the Christian faith. She cherry-picked verses to flip their meaning to justify abortion.

Peters has a history of making pro-abortion comments. She once claimed Jesus would assist women in obtaining abortions. She has been very open with the fact she’s had two abortions. She said, “I, too, feel that I am known by God in these ways, as a woman who has borne two children. I can affirm that I felt something sacred happening in my gestating body during those pregnancies. I can also attest that I felt God’s presence with me as I made the decision to end two pregnancies and I felt no guilt, no shame, no sin.”

We’d like to remind her of another verse from Proverbs 6: “There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.”

Peters’ twisted mindset that abortion and Christianity go hand in hand is dangerous and wrong. Not only is she in denial of her own sin, she is leading other people to believe they can make the same choice and God won’t care.

In today’s society, we see a lot of wolves in sheep's clothing. “Pastor” Peters is one of them. Many people will use the name of Christ to lead others astray from His real teachings. We must be on guard against false teachers! God created each of us. Every life has value, even in the womb.
