Over the last couple of years, we have seen a massive amount of gay pride flags in all government buildings, including public schools. These flags are being displayed in the name of “freedom of expression.” Although it may seem innocent, these flags hold more significance than one may think.
The pride flag was created in 1978 by Gilbert Baker who made it for the San Francisco Gay Freedom Day Parade. The original colors were not the colors of the rainbow but instead were made of colors like hot pink and turquoise. The hot pink and turquoise were allegedly removed due to “manufacturing issues” but more likely were removed to hijack what the rainbow means to Christians, God’s promise to Noah that He would never flood the Earth again. Now, due to the ever-evolving nature of sexual deviance, many more sexual representation flags have been created and are being flown here in Texas.
Last school year, we saw the pride flag epidemic taken to the next level when Austin ISD made pride flags with their own branding on them. These public schools are funded by our tax dollars! This means YOU are paying for this flag to be made and displayed Upon release of this image and information, other parents reached out to us regarding pride flags on display in children's classrooms across the state.
Texas must fix this! No flags, aside from the American flag and the Texas flag, should be flown in government buildings, including public schools. The Texas legislature must address this in the upcoming legislative session. To take it a step further, we should display the 10 Commandments in every Texas classroom instead. It is an essential document that helped in the founding of our nation and provides actual educational value to students, unlike the pride flag. Louisiana passed a bill to require the 10 Commandments to be displayed in classrooms. This new law will be implemented in January.
There are many issues with the current public education system in Texas, but eliminating some of the nonsense, like school district-branded pride flags, would allow us to address the more pressing issues. Children are reading below grade level, math scores are plummeting, and violence in classrooms is skyrocketing. Unfortunately, many schools seem to be more focused on “educating” children about sexual perversions.
