At Texas Family Project (TFP), our mission is clear: protect Texas children and empower parents to safeguard their rights. Through the hard work of our Vice-President, Sara Gonzales, we recently uncovered a deeply troubling situation involving Brittney Stroud, a middle school teacher in Lovejoy Independent School District (ISD). Thanks to Sara’s relentless pursuit of the truth and our organization’s commitment to accountability, Stroud has been placed on administrative leave as an investigation unfolds. This story is a testament to TFP’s dedication to rooting out inappropriate influences in our schools and ensuring Texas kids are safe.
A Call to Action
On March 7, 2025, TFP Vice-President, Sara Gonzales took to X to share alarming allegations about Stroud’s conduct in the classroom. Parents had reached out with concerns that could not be ignored: Stroud was reportedly playing music with explicit lyrics for her young students and recommending sexually charged TV shows, dismissing their discomfort with remarks like “you have big brains” and “can handle it.” She allegedly shared personal details about her mental health struggles and expressed contempt for holidays like Easter and Christmas, favoring Halloween instead.
Worse still, parents told us that students who felt uneasy about Stroud’s boundary violations faced retaliation—along with the families who dared to complain to Lovejoy ISD’s administration. At TFP, we saw this as a direct affront to the trust parents place in schools. Sara, a mother of two and a fierce advocate for Texas families, knew we had to act.
Digging Deeper
As an organization committed to transparency, we didn’t stop at hearsay. Sara investigated Stroud’s public social media presence, uncovering content that raised serious questions about her fitness to teach. She shared her findings with our supporters: a series of graphic photoshoots, including a “bloody” tribute to Stroud’s mental illness struggles, a “fed up housewife” scene with a woman licking a bloody knife and a drowning image, and even a photo of a woman with a shovel over a lifeless-looking child, hinting at child murder. Other images showed bloody hands, a young male behind a window, and a woman seemingly suffocating with plastic wrap around her face.
Sara posed a question that cut to the core of TFP’s mission: “Would you trust this woman around your young children every day?” For us, the answer was a resounding no. We challenged Lovejoy ISD directly: “Hey @lovejoyisd1, how are you vetting your teachers before hiring???” This wasn’t just about one teacher—it was about systemic accountability.
Our Commitment Pays Off
At TFP, we don’t just raise alarms; we follow through. Sara’s X thread, backed by our organizational resolve, sparked a swift response. By March 7, 2025, Lovejoy ISD had placed Brittney Stroud on administrative leave pending an investigation. While the district has yet to disclose full details, this immediate action reflects the power of our advocacy. We promised to rid Texas schools of “disgusting teachers,” and with Sara leading the charge, we’re making good on that vow.
“We will follow through on this one, @lovejoyisd1,” Sara wrote. “Do right by Texas kids.” That’s not just her pledge—it’s TFP’s unbreakable commitment. Our work ensures that parents’ voices are heard and that schools prioritize student safety above all else.
A Troubling Pattern at Lovejoy ISD
This isn’t the first time Lovejoy ISD has come under scrutiny, and at TFP, we’re attuned to patterns that threaten our children. In June 2023, Texas Scorecard reported that Alisha Feuerbacher, a former Lovejoy High School aide, was arrested for an alleged improper relationship with a student—an incident that occurred after she left the district. In June 2022, Ray Cooper, dubbed “Creepy Cooper” by students, resigned from Lovejoy High after sending sexually suggestive messages to a student. His teaching certificate remains active, raising further questions about oversight.
These cases fuel our resolve at TFP. Sara’s pointed question about Lovejoy ISD’s vetting process reflects our broader mission: to demand rigorous standards for those entrusted with our kids.
Our Victory, Your Voice
This breakthrough belongs to the Texas Family Project and Sara Gonzales—but it’s also a victory for every parent and citizen who believes in protecting our kids. Sara’s initial exposé, fueled by parental tips and her investigation, ignited a movement that TFP proudly champions. Stroud’s leave is a direct result of our collective efforts, proving that when we stand together, we can force accountability.
We’re not done yet. TFP will keep fighting until Texas schools are free of threats to our children’s well-being. This is our promise: to stand as unwavering guardians of Texas families, ensuring no child is left vulnerable to unchecked educators.
