The United States military is commonly known as the most powerful and well-prepared fighting force in the world. We earned those titles through the sacrifices our men and women made for this country. We have always been well respected all over the world for our strength. Recently though, the U.S. military seems to have taken a step back and softened their recruiting standards for the next generation.
Video has surfaced of U.S. Navy Sailor Joshua Kelly acting as a drag queen. There are claims he hosts lip sync competitions with his squadron in order to boost morale. Kelly performs under the alter ego “Harpy Daniels” and has been seen doing performances in front of real audiences. Kelly claims that he wants to inspire people all over the country so that they can serve this nation and still “be themselves.”
There are multiple things wrong with these actions but the main one is this: drag queens have been sexualizing children all over the country. The drag queen movement has been used as a vessel to expose children to sexual topics and sexual humor no child should be exposed to. Drag shows also give children the false idea that they can change their gender. The drag and trans communities have a multitude of mental health problems. Many in these communities eventually realize they could never actually change their gender which leads them to severe depression.
In 2011, just 13 years ago, you weren’t even allowed to be openly homosexual in the military. In 2021, just 3 years ago, you couldn’t be a transgender in the military. Fast forward to 2024: drag queens in the military are not just tolerated but promoted. Many countries still consider transgenderism to be a mental disorder and drag is not tolerated anywhere in their country, let alone in the military.
This new acceptance of drag queens and transgenderism in our Armed Forces severely damages the image of our military and country around the world. We are supposed to be the world’s strongest fighting force, not a military focused on DEI requirements!
Would you trust a drag queen to protect us in war? Would you prefer if DEI was the military's #1 concern? Do you believe a group commonly known to sexualize children should have an influence on our military? These questions must be considered when discussing this drag queen sailor and the precedent he sets.
