What The Election Means For Texas Families

Early voting in Texas began earlier this week. At voting locations nearly everywhere in Texas, there are long wait times.  This election is proving to be the biggest election we have ever seen. The ballot in Texas has two huge races to watch for at the top of the ticket: the race for President and the race for US Senator.

The main issues driving turnout in this election are abortion, drugs, human trafficking, and wars overseas. The candidates are spending most of their time covering these topics.   Vice President Kamala Harris has promised to make abortion legal in every state, while President Donald Trump is focusing on keeping abortion an issue to be decided in each state.

While most people are focusing on the race for The White House, the more interesting race in Texas is the battle between Senator Ted Cruz and Congressman Colin Allred. Texans have been inundated with ads on TV and social media. The Cruz camp has been running ads to educate Texans about Allred’s record allowing men to compete in women’s sports. Allred has been a champion for the transgender community throughout his time in office. Allred is also attacking Cruz on abortion, blaming him for the protections preborn babies now enjoy in our state.

With the nonstop ads and attacks being thrown from all sides, it is important each of us dive into each candidate and understand what they will do for our families and kids. Each candidate running for President and US Senate has a record. Make sure to examine these records closely. If you have any questions, please email us at Info@TexasFamilyProject.com.
