What The VP Debate Means For Texas Families

The battle for the White House is in full swing. President Donald Trump has already debated both President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. Vice Presidential candidates Senator J.D. Vance and Governor Tim Walz had their first debate on Tuesday night. Many topics related to the family unit were discussed. The two Vice President candidates both agreed there are many issues relating to the family unit but proposed very different solutions to those problems.

One of the most disturbing issues facing families is violence in schools. In many of these violent cases, the attacker has had some form of mental health issue.  Public schools have become breeding grounds for mental health issues because of the woke policies being taught to children.

Walz, for the most part, blamed guns for shootings instead of proposing a solution to actually keep our children safe. Vance discussed the mental health crisis and other steps we can take to protect school kids including installing stronger doors and windows to prevent intruders from getting inside.

Abortion continues to take center stage in this election cycle. Abortion has taken more innocent American lives than any war in our history. The pro-abortion crowd has pivoted talking points. Instead of saying an unborn baby is subhuman because it’s a “fetus,” they’re now saying society just needs to “simply trust women.” This talking point ignores the humanity of a preborn child and its life deserving of our protection.

Walz spent much of his time in the debate talking about his home state of Minnesota. He mentioned several policies he enacted that he would take to the federal level if the Democrats win.  He failed to mention some of the extreme laws in place in Minnesota including the legalization of abortion through all 9 months of a pregnancy.  Vance, on the other hand, is on the record in full support of a national abortion ban.

To sum it up, if we elect the Harris/Walz ticket, children will be in more danger, both in the womb and as they grow older. If we elect the Trump/Vance ticket, we will see increased protections for children, families, and parental rights.
